GENERAL

What will the weather be like?

Weather in San Francisco in July can be variable and is usually a little on the cool side. Also, SFSU is near the ocean, and there can be cloud cover in the mornings--although the weather can warm up during the day. Bring layers and warm-ups. You may also want to have tights to compete in if needed. 

Will the Pride Track and Field Meet be held the weekend of San Francisco Pride (Jun 28-29, 2008)?

The Pride Track and Field Meet is not being held the weekend of SF Pride. The meet is a month later, on Saturday, July 26, 2008.

 

REGISTRATION 

How do I register if I am not a 2008 member of USATF?

Please download the Mail-In Registration Form on the registration page.

The online registration system is not accepting my USATF membership number.

You must be a current member in 2008.  If you do not remember your 2008 number, you can use the member number lookup function at the USATF login page.

I have accessed the Pride Meet event signup page, but I can't get the system to accept my event entry.

For each event, the USATF system requires you to fill in the fields for your previous  mark with the location and date, for seeding purposes.  You can enter an estimate or NM (no mark) if you do not have a prior mark.

Can I add events after I have completed my registration?

Yes. On the registration page, click EDIT AN EXISTING REGISTRATION to access the USATF system and update your registration online.

 

COMPETITION

Can I add events at the meet?

Yes. You will probably need to do this when you check in. Additional events are $5 each. 

Can I switch events at the meet?

Yes. See the Clerk of the Course. We may require you to make changes to morning events when you check-in. For afternoon events, we may require changes by 11:00 am. Please inquire at check-in if you think you may change events.

How do I sign up for relays?

You can form teams the day of the meet. Please indicate your interest on sign-up sheets at check-in.

Are 1/4" xmas tree spikes allowed, or are only pyramid spikes allowed?

SFSU strongly prefers that athletes use 1/4" pyramid spikes, but xmas tree spikes will be allowed.

 

FACILITIES / DAY OF THE MEET

Is there parking near the track? How much does it cost?

Yes, there is a parking garage very close to the track. Please see our Venue page and scroll down to see the maps showing the garage west of Cox Stadium (to the left on the maps). Parking is $5 all day, purchased at machines in the garage which will give you a slip to place on your dashboard.

You can reach the garage directly from Lake Merced Drive. Use the links on the Venue page to access directions and parking information from the SFSU website.

Are there lockers or changing rooms at the track?

No. However, there are large restrooms next to the track in which you could change if needed.

Are food or drinks available at the meet?

It's best to bring your own food and drink, as you would to any track meet. While refreshments are not being provided at the track, there are some services available on campus a short distance away. We will have maps showing these services at the check-in table.
